What is yabai designs?

The word ‘Yabai’ (やばい) is a Japanese slang word. It is believed that the word has been in use since the Edo period in Japan and was originally used as a code word among thieves and criminals to indicate that an act was too risky to pursue. The modern use of the word is similar to ‘Bad’ or ‘Sick’ in English.

“Those wheels are sick!” for example.

‘Yabai’ still literally means dangerous or risky, but is used as slang to mean amazing, cool, insane, crazy, extreme, OMG etc.

Name aside, the idea behind Yabai Designs was born out of a strong need to do what makes us happy. We are huge gearheads and fans of Japanese culture, anime and video games. We also love to design products that WE would love to have. Yabai Designs was started to share these designs with other like-minded people.

Yabai Designs is an artist owned company and based out of the Pacific North West in the United States. All designs are original and created in the U.S.A.
